The Cincinnati Bearcats’ 2010 Non-Conference Games Schedule

Sunday - August 29, 2010 | Football | comment balloon Comments (0)

For the 2010 Football games the Cincinnati Bearcats will be playing 5 non-conference and 7 conference games.

Fresno State

Their first game is played against the Fresno State U Bulldogs on September 4. Last season, the match between the two schools was a close fight with the Bulldogs putting up a very good fight that had Cincinnati maximizing its resources. However, at the last moment, the Bulldogs dropped back to a 28-20 loss. The game was played at Nippert stadium.

Last season, the bulldogs scored 8-5 and 6-2 in the WAC. But at that time they still had running back Ryan Mathews in the team. Ever since Mathews left for the NFL draft the chances that the team can make the same kind of rushing attacks as last season are slim. That’s why experts predict a win for the Bearcats 41-20.

Indiana State

Next, on September 11, the Bearcats take on the Indiana St. Sycamores in what has been called a ‘monumental’ mismatch with the Sycamores having nothing to match the strength of the Bearcats.

The Sycamores scored last season a whining 1-10. What little resistance they showed Louisville fizzled out as they lost at the end with 10 against Louisiana’s 30. Their encounter with the Bearcats will likely end in a similar point-massacre. It is a good thing that the game is also expected to end very early.

North Carolina State

This match is scheduled for September 16. The NC team finished 5-7 last season but scored 5-3 at home. What is going for them is their strong offense. However, unless they have improved their defense for this season they won’t stand a chance against the attacks of the Bearcats.

Predictions talk about a 45-24 victory for Cincinnati.

Oklahoma

Oklahoma will be playing opposite the Bearcats on September 25. Oklahoma has developed a very fast attack tactic. On the opposite side, the Bearcats are known for their strong and well coordinated defense. The match between these two members of the top 20 list will be more or less even.

Oklahoma has a formidable line-up again this year despite losing quarterback Sam Bradford. And since they had it bad in 2009, they are expected to make a comeback for this season.

Cincinnati will have a slight edge at home.

Victory is predicted for Cincinnati 31-27 but those numbers may easily be reversed.

Miami

The last day of the games, October 9, sees Cincinnati pitted against Miami. The two teams are traditionally rivals. Their rivalry extends as far back as 120 years. Annually the two have battled for the possession of the Victory Bell trophy in the Battle for the Victory Bell.

Cincinnati has defeated Miami for four successive times. In the past years, Miami hasn’t been very motivated. If the situation doesn’t change this season, Miami is headed for its fifth consecutive defeat.

The games of the Bearcats with Miami is usually short. In home games everything is usually decided by half the time.

If the forecasts are proven accurate, the Bearcats stand to better their score in these seasons non-conference games. However, they still have to perform consistently in the conference games to up their overall score.
