If you follow basketball, you know that this year’s season, up to this point, has been nothing short of awesome! Many of the teams that are always at the top of the standings have now become somewhat vulnerable and lots of the newer teams are making themselves known as worthy contenders. You just never know what could happen over the course of the playoffs, even though the Lakers are favored to come out on top in the Western Conference. Right now, the action in the Eastern Conference is pretty great to watch.

First, there are the Orlando Magic. You may be wondering why they’re mentioned first here, because they don’t have the best record in the Eastern Conference by any means, as they’ve won seven less games than Cleveland has. However, they have the second best record in the East and they did make the NBA finals last season.

What they need to make improvements to is how effectively they are playing this year, as opposed to last year. Yes, there is still enough time for them to improve, but they must take action right now.

Next we have Boston, the team that has two key players, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett, who are dealing with injuries this season and, thus, are not 100 percent. There is also a rumor going around that Ray Allen might be traded. So, these injuries and the possible trade will indeed affect this team’s performance. This team, just two seasons ago, made it all the way and came away with the NBA title.

And finally, the team that is really having the best season so far is Cleveland. Yes, they started off kind of slow, but, with Shaquille O’Neal a part of the lineup, they seem to be the best team as of right now. Their focus will be to beat Orlando and Boston, two teams that defeated them in the previous two years.
