The Truth On Las Vegas

Wednesday - November 18, 2009 | Casino | comment balloon Comments (0)

I am going to write a few things about Las Vegas’ darker side. I was on vacation there not long ago and it was unbelievable. It was far from what I had pictured it to be.

It seems that whenever you see Las Vegas on TV, whether it be a documentary or movie, there are lots of people having a great time and staying in suites as big as your house in the best hotels in Vegas. The truth however is far from what I have just described.

I went in the casino and this is where I saw the true Las Vegas, it was full of gambling addicts. The slot machines had people almost glued to them, endlessly putting money into them and then pulling the leaver.

When I ventured over to the roulette tables I saw that in general, the gamblers there simply couldn’t pull themselves away from the table, it was like some special force was keeping them there. I was excited to see real life roulette however, as I am a big fan of the online game.

I was in Vegas for a week and I went to the casino four times and some people were at the roulette wheel every single time I was there. Roulette is a fun game but it can be very addictive and Vegas seems to be like a giant magnet for the gamblers, they are attracted by the flash buildings and bright lights and end up stuck there.

There are many things done in excess in Vegas, particularly drinking. Everyone knows that Las Vegas is the place of choice for wild weekends away and bachelor parties and I saw a lot of these during my stay.

I found that there were people with some sort of problem everywhere in Vegas. Many had gambling problems, or drink problems, some even had drug problems.

Las Vegas itself is a very nice place and it looks as fabulous for real as it does on TV. Unfortunately it is because of this that it attracts the wrong people. The sheer amount of casinos and bars defiantly doesn’t help either.

Las Vegas is great but be careful if you plan on going to the casinos. It may be a better idea to play online roulette because it is easier to stay in control.
