Triple Crown

Monday - May 19, 2008 | horse racing | comment balloon Comments (0)

The Triple Crown is dominated by colts who show early brilliance, and the Classic by less precocious, more durable horses. The Triple Crown is contested on three different tracks at three different distances during a five-week period. The strain on the horses is enormous. The Triple Crown is the most supportive club for live music in town, with all the ambiance of the Austin Outhouse. The music is good–ranging from folk to blues, rock to country, and there are occasional belly dance shows.

The Triple Crown is three races in five weeks; many think that’s too demanding for the modern thoroughbred, seen as less durable than its ancestors. The Triple Crown is the most highly prized achievable offensive trophy in baseball. Granted, the Most Valuable Player Award is more commonly thought of as the top achievement; however, this is supposed to be an award for a player’s all-around contribution, not just hitting. The Triple Crown is such a rare event that it’s really not worth talking or even thinking about until the Derby and the Preakness are done. But as I don’t know an eighth as much on the subject as you do, I’d love to hear what you think about that.

Belmont was also quite involved in horse racing, and his imprint is even intertwined within the history of the Kentucky Derby. Belmont was even more dramatic than Preakness. They ran alongside for a while, occasionally trading leads.

Horses will have five weeks to rest and get ready for the last leg of the Triple Crown called Belmont Stakes. It is often called the “Test of the Champions” because of the long distance, 1 1/2 miles. Horse racing has long been called the Sport of Kings because of the wealthy few around the world who can afford to own and race horses. In today’s world it is no different but perhaps this year, the king maybe the horse who is on pace to win the Triple Crown. Horses Wild’s selections are not guaranteed winners. We encourage inexperienced horse bettors to learn about handicapping of horse races and recognizing betting values, spotting handicapping angles, track bias and track conditon.

Horseracing is also considered an upper class sport; NASCAR is for the bubba class. But both are essentially the same thing, watching vehicles (horse + rider = car + driver) go around in circles. Horse racing results, horse racing betting tips and picks. We have updated our site for the 2007 racing season. Horsemen like to talk about their thoroughbreds and how they were born to run and live to run. The reality is that they are made to run, forced to run for profits they never see.
